Victorian Diamond & Enamel Butterfly Brooch opal the piece opens to revealDATE: Victorian, c. 1880 An incredible antique butterfly brooch dating from the latter half of the 19th century. It's French, set with old and rose cut diamonds, and finished in striking red, black, and cream coloured enamel. The craftsmanship is exceptional, modelled in 18 karat gold with an incredibly fine gold seam between the vitreous red and cream enamel sections.
