Its main column is constructed from a camshaft the part of an engine that controls the opening and closing of the valves. The base of the lamp is the timing gear (a gear with teeth) which drives the camshaft. At the top of the camshaft is a metal lamp holder and shade. The shade is NOT INCLUDED the lamp stands 12 1 2" tallto the top of the socket, and
