Proclamation written by Albert Spies in response to the killing of unarmed workers on May 3, 1886 at the McCormick Reapers Works by Chicago police. The deaths of six workers became a call for direct action, and a public rally was called for the following day to be held in Haymarket Square. The rally called for May 4th would later be known as the Haymarket Massacre. The circular was written in both English and German. Museum quality
